Hyggecardigan is a classic cardigan with a V-neck and buttons - it is oversized and can be knitted in two lengths.

 

Hyggecardigan is knitted top-down. Increases are made for shoulders around one shoulder stitch. At the same time, increases are made for the V-neck. When the width of the shoulders is reached, knitting is done back and forth. Under the arms, the work is joined, and knitting is done back and forth over all stitches. When the desired length is reached, the stitches are cast off after a rib edge, and stitches are picked up along the front edges for button bands. Stitches for sleeves are picked up directly in the armholes.
