Sofie Cardigan is a sweet, classic cardigan with a relatively close-fitting silhouette and a classic cable pattern. It has a crew neck and is finished with ribbing at the neck, body and sleeves. Double-knitted button bands are worked along the front edges.

Sofie Cardigan is worked top down in a cable pattern. Stitches are cast on for the back neck, and the back is worked flat with increases at each end to shape the shoulder slopes. Stitches are picked up along the sloping edges of the back for the shoulders, which are worked separately. Stitches are then picked up for the sleeves along the shoulder pieces, and the sleeve caps are shaped with increases. At the same time, the neckline is shaped and all sections are joined. After the increases, the sleeve stitches are placed on hold while the body is worked and finished with ribbing. Finally, the neckband, sleeves and button bands are worked.
